打(Da): to strike, usually refers to the fighting with fists, palms or arms.

大腸 large intestine; colon

大乘(DaChen): Great conveyance,  a high level of  Buddhist study

搭橋 (DaQiao): to bridge, to build a bridge. Refers to connecting the governor channel and conception channel by touching the upper palate with the tip of tongue.

大腿骨(DaTuiGu): thighbone, femur

打穴(DaXue): to strike cavity

大周天(DaZhouTian): the big heavenly circle, the grand circulation. The Qigong practice that is to have Qi circulate through the whole body without smallest hindrance.

大椎(DaZhui): big vertebra cavity

打坐(DaZuo): engaging sitting, Daoism’s term for meditation

帶脈(DaiMai): belt vessel; girdle vessel

奇經八脈之一 One of the eight extraordinary Qi vessels.

帶脈息(DaiMaiXi): Girdle Vessel Breathing, which is a special Qigong breathing technique.

丹爐(DanLu): elixir furnace, where the Qi can be produced and refined.

道家(DaoJia): the Dao family, Daoism. Created by老子Lao Zi during the Zhou Dynasty(1123~255B.C.). Later, it was mixed with Buddhism to become the Daoist religion.

道教(DaoJiao): Dao religion. Created by張道陵(Zhang Dao Ling who combined the traditional Daoist principles with Buddhism during東漢the Chinese Eastern Han Dynasty(25~220A.D.)

刁(Diao): to hook; hooking

定(Ding): to stabilize; to firm

頂勁(DingJin): the Jin of leading head upward

定神(DingShen): to stabilize the spirit

動觸(DongChu): moving touch, refers to the unusual, automatic movements or sensations sometimes experienced during Qigong practice.

懂勁(DongJin): understanding the Jin; the comprehension of Jin; to understand Jin

動靜(DongJin): movement and stillness; movements and calmness

冬眠息(DongMianXi): hibernation breathing

抖 shaking; to shake

督脈(DuMai): governor vessel or channel

短勁(DuanJin): short Jin, which is used in short range fighting

斷 (Duan): to break or to seal

斷開(DuanKai): to break; break up; broken

斷勁(DuanJin): the broken Jin

斷脈(DuanMai): to break or to seal blood or Qi vessels.

斷續(DuanXu): breaking and continuing; break and continuity

兌(Dui): lake; one of the eight trigrams, which corresponds to lake
